bear my soul to hell

Well, come again to-morrow: fare thee well:
A fiend like thee might bear my soul to hell.

word of the day!

anathema : (n) something or someone that one vehemently dislikes

  • (n) a formal curse by a pope or a council of the Church, excommunicating a person or denouncing a doctrine
  • (n) (poetic/literary) a strong curse

His lifestyle of thoughtless hedonism was anathema to me.

That’s right. Anathema is so awesome, I can’t pick just one definition to give. Though, if I’m being honest, I really only use the first. But then, everybody only uses the first. When’s the last time you heard anybody talking about that anathema the pope issued? Or saying something like “damn, I need to lay off the anathemas. My girlfriend hates when I swear”?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.
