bear my soul to hell

Well, come again to-morrow: fare thee well:
A fiend like thee might bear my soul to hell.

word of the day!

magnanimous : very generous or forgiving, especially towards a rival or someone less powerful than oneself

How magnanimous of you, to grant me a reprieve after beating me five times in a row.

I’ve seen it so often used in a sarcastic context that I think of it as having a connotation of condescension. But I can’t be sure if that’s a legitimate interpretation of the word, or if I’m unfairly limiting its use.

Fuck it, if it’s coming from a position of power, it’s most likely condescending. Apologies to any sincerely magnanimous people out there, but you’re in the minority.
